Byron McCann, President & CEO
Mr. McCann is the founding CEO of Ajuga. He has been CEO, COO, and founder of several early stage ventures which include genSoft which was acquired by Computer Associates; Pacific Communications, acquired by Tele-communications, Inc.; and Service Intelligence, acquired by Global Compliance. He is a venture partner with Prism Capital and managing partner of Ascent Partners Group, a financial advisory firm to technology companies. He is a member of the NW Energy Angels and Keiretsu Forum, two angel investor groups. He currently co-chairs the NW Clean Tech Open. He is a graduate of Harvard University and has an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Mark Lange, Ph.D., Vice President, Research & Development and Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Lange is the scientific founder of Ajuga. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemistry from the University of Bonn and a Ph.D. in Botany and Phytochemistry from the University of Munich in Germany. He pursued postdoctoral studies in natural products biochemistry at the University of Tuebingen and Washington State University and held positions as a senior scientist in the biotechnology industry (Novartis Agricultural Discovery Institute, Torrey Mesa Research Institute, and Diversa (now Verenium)). He is currently a faculty at the Institute of Biological Chemistry at Washington State University. His academic research interests revolve around understanding the regulation of plant pathways leading to bioactive natural products.
